The Garrity Perception Survey (GPS) is the premier resource for understanding New Mexico residents. Since 2011, the annual survey measures who residents trust, which industries are favorable and how residents access news and information.

The unique survey provides insights about how New Mexico residents views can vary based on their geography and demographics.

In addition to surveying New Mexico residents on the favorability of 17 industries and institutions, The Garrity Group commissioned Research & Polling to also query residents’ trust of 15 professions, how residents access news and information and what kind of trust they place in those sources.

New for the 2020 GPS we are now tracking the favorability of the Film & Motion Picture Industry. Also, in this day and age, the perception survey is critical to help organziations understand more about their target audiences, who they trust and how they access news and information. The Garrity Perception Survey also tracks these industries and institutions: Small Business, Solar and Wind, Farm and Ranch, Local Banks, National Banks, National Laboratories (like Sandia and Los Alamos), Courts and Justice System, Major Business Corpprations, Mining Industry, Medical System, Public Schools, Commercial Construction Industry, State Universities in New Mexico, Community Colleges, Oil and Gas Industry, as well as Church and Organized Religion.

The 2020 Garrity Perception Survey is a scientific survey of New Mexico residents with a 95% level of confidence.  Since 2011, The Garrity Group has commissioned Albuquerque’s Research and Polling to conduct the survey of New Mexico residents.
